Racing Festival 2014 with plenty of gorgeous supercars!
The Viking town of Roskilde got its own temporary racetrack for a weekend. It is built along Østre Ringvej with concrete barriers and wire fencing as safety between the spectators and the cars.
This is where Den Internationale Racing Festival 2014 is held. It is possible to get a ride in track cars, rally cars and fast supercars.
Examples of some of the cars that took part in the event:
Chevrolet Corvette C7
Porsche GT3 RS
McLaren 650S
Suzuki Swift 2000
Peugeot Spider
Ferrari 458 GT3
Nissan GT-R
Lamborghini Huracan
Mercedes Benz AMG
The drivers are top drivers with great experience in motorsport, both Danish and international.
A lap of the track is 3.5 km, where at the opposite end of the start area you turn via a roundabout.
It is possible to walk all the way around the track, which gives you the chance to hear the accelerations, watch the overtakes, and listen to the cars' own characteristic sounds in different parts of the track.
Take for instance the super fast Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4, whose sound leaves no doubt, or when Erik W. P. arrives in his Corvette.
A diverse symphony of sounds develops as you exercise your legs along the track.
Several of the drivers drift around the roundabout to the great delight of the crowd, and surely also of the co-driver.
All in all, it makes you want to get out there and try a ride yourself. You just have to experience it.
