Gumball 3000 in Copenhagen – Supercars at Rosenborg Castle!
The Gumball 3000 participants had their Danish rally stop in 2015 at Rosenborg Castle. It was great that the Gumball 3000 route went via Copenhagen. Then it was possible to see the beautiful and creatively decorated Gumball cars.
It’s amazing how much packaging matters. It’s like “cloth makes the man”, but for cars.
The theme this year is ‘Las Vegas Casino’. The theme will be carried by the cars throughout the tour, which passes through the following cities:
Stockholm – Oslo – Copenhagen – Amsterdam – Reno – San Francisco – Los Angeles – Las Vegas.
Gumball 3000 organizers opened the area at Rosenborg Castle at 13:30. From that time until 22:00, when they closed, cars could arrive.
On the way from Oslo to Copenhagen, the trip went down the west coast of Sweden. Here they had to stop by the Koenigsegg factory, where they also had the opportunity to test their own cars at the nearby airfield.
Therefore, no one knew exactly when the cars arrived. However, we received regular reports from people who were following the participants closely on Facebook and Twitter.
The first car arrived at around 15:30. It was a silver Porsche 918 Spyder.
Do you know what it’s like to have an idea of what a car looks like without having seen it in real life? I.e. you have only seen it in videos and pictures. And then seeing it in real life!
Fortunately, most of the time, you are pleasantly surprised. I did the same this time. In addition, it was also wearing a
casino theme, which made them look even better.
The Gumball 3000 in Copenhagen video below shows, among other things, the wide and well-sounding Ferrari 458 Liberty Walk, which had the team name “Team Anime”.
Watching it drive through the crowds, then suddenly stop for a moment and lower the carriage a few centimeters, and then roll on was a real pleasure. The accelerator pedal was used extensively, so that the sound of the engine was given free rein to unfold its sounds.
All this happened to the great enthusiasm of the audience.
Cars that you don’t see every day in Denmark were represented, including
A 1995 Ferrari F50, a 1959 open Ferrari 250 and a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. Each with their own special sound.
Supercars arrived right up until closing time at 22:00.
